Summer camps at Faith Lutheran School offer children the opportunity to learn and play together as they explore a new theme each week. These outdoor camps may include arts & crafts, songs, games, stories, cooking, and water play.
Summer Camp 2025 Dates
Monday, July 7 – Friday, August 15, 2025
Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Cost
Registration fee: $75
$275 per week
Week 1: Nature Explorers:
Activities: Nature walks, leaf and rock painting, bug scavenger hunts, and building bird feeders.
- Nature Collages: Collect leaves, twigs, and flowers to make art.
- Rain Stick Craft: Create rain sticks using cardboard tubes, beans, and rice.
- Animal Movement Game: Pretend to be animals (hopping like frogs, flapping like birds).
- Cloud Watching: Lie on a blanket and identify shapes in the clouds.
- Planting Seeds: Teach children to plant and care for small potted plants.
Week 2: Pirates and Mermaids
Activities: Treasure hunts, making pirate hats or mermaid crowns, and water play with “sunken treasure.”
- “Walk the Plank” Obstacle Course: Use a board on the ground for safe balancing fun.
- Message in a Bottle: Write or draw a message, seal it in a plastic bottle, and “send it out to sea.”
- Ocean Slime: Make blue slime with glitter to represent the sea.
- Pirate/Mermaid Storytelling: Act out pirate or mermaid adventures.
- Sea Shanty Sing-Along: Learn and sing simple sea songs together.
Week 3: Space Explorers
Activities: Build cardboard rockets, create constellations with glow-in-the-dark stars, and pretend space missions.
- Alien Puppets: Create alien characters using paper bags and craft supplies.
- Moon Sand Sensory Play: Use kinetic sand for tactile moon exploration.
- Rocket Races: Build small straw rockets and see whose goes the farthest.
- Galaxy Jars: Layer glitter, water, and food coloring in jars to make mini galaxies.
- Astronaut Training: Set up an obstacle course to practice “zero gravity” moves.
Week 4: Under the Sea
Activities: Sensory water bins with sea animals, creating paper plate jellyfish, and ocean-themed story-time.
Fish Printing: Use toy fish or fish-shaped sponges to create paint prints.
- Underwater Scene Mural: Collaborate on a big ocean scene with fish, coral, and seaweed.
- Beach Ball Toss: Use beach balls for a fun group game.
- Shell Sorting: Explore shells and sort them by size or color.
- Mermaid/Sea Creature Dance Party: Dance to ocean-themed music while pretending to swim.
Week 5: Camp Carnival
Activities: Face painting, bean bag toss, ring toss, and creating fun carnival signs.
- Popcorn Necklaces: Thread popped popcorn onto string for edible crafts.
- Balloon Animals: Use twistable balloons for fun shapes.
- Photo Booth Fun: Create a booth with silly props for kids to take pictures.
- Duck Pond Game: Pick rubber ducks from water for prizes.
- Clown Hat Craft: Make and decorate hats with paper and pom-poms.
Week 6: Dinosaur Discovery
Activities: Dino digs with sand and fossils, making dino feet from cardboard, and creating dinosaur crafts.
- Dino Stomp Dance Party: Dance while pretending to stomp like dinosaurs.
- Dinosaur Egg Hunt: Hide “eggs” (plastic eggs with small surprises) around the area.
- Fossil Rubbings: Place paper over textured fossil shapes and rub with crayons.
- Dino Snack Making: Use fruit and veggies to create dinosaur-themed snacks.
- Storytime with Dinosaurs: Read books about dinosaurs, like How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?
