Happy new year everyone. One of your new year resolutions may be improving the consistency in parenting discipline. In this post, we wanted to highlight some of the parenting philosophies that our teachers use in the classroom to help our kiddos with self-regulation and social emotional competence. If you have questions about these resources and approaches, you are welcome to discuss it with your child’s teacher.
We hope your families have adjusted back to the school year routine or have found a new routine if this is your family’s first year at our preschool. This past week our teachers hosted a curriculum night where among many things they discussed expectations parents should have and the value of social interaction for your kiddos. We strive to feed our toddlers and preschoolers healthy foods but find excuses to use processed convenient foods instead of cooking from scratch healthy nutritious meals. How often do we, the parents catch ourselves thinking that “the kid is sick, I am too tired, she/he won’t eat anything other than mac and cheese, it is too expensive to eat real food, there is no time in the day, etc.” We have all been there and there is no judgment.
